Exempt Usage
The values supplied in this field have several impacts depending on whether you are using dilution or not.
Dilution Enabled -- If you are using dilution, then this field will contain 3 values:
Standard Pay (Diluted) - This is the default value for a pay code and indicates that time charged to these pay codes will have its effective cost rate and effective hours values multiplied by the dilution factor.
The Pay Code factor IS NOT applied when determining the effective cost rate (for exempt employees) when charging to these pay codes.
Additional Pay (Undiluted) - Time charged to these pay codes is not included in the dilution calculations at all (the number of Available Hours, however, remains the same).
These undiluted pay codes enable you to pay an exempt user wages for hours worked in addition to those hours considered under dilution (ie ability to pay for additional hours at a rate unaffected by dilution -- potentially affected by pay code factor).
The Pay Code factor IS applied when determining the effective cost rate (for exempt employees) when charging to these pay codes.
Standard Pay (Undiluted) - Time charged to these pay code will reduce the number of Available Hours in the dilution calculations (e.g. these could be considered exception time and thus 8 hours charged to a leave project could be excluded making the dilution calculations based on a 32 hour week). The time charged to these pay code will then be considered for straight time pay.
The Pay Code factor IS NOT applied when determining the effective cost rate (for exempt employees) when charging to these pay codes.

Dilution Disabled -- If you are not using dilution, then this field will contain 2 values:
* Pay Code factor is always applied to Non-Exempt & Non-Employee users.
Leave Without Pay -- When selecting this option, the Cost Rate Factor and Additional Pay Per Hour Rate will both be defaulted to 0 and those fields will not be editable (whether or not Dilution is enabled). See LWOP for additional information about handling Leave Without Pay.
